Most modern Hoover washing machines will give you a fault code to help diagnose any issue the machine has detected, below are a few for a guide to help diagnose the problem with your washing machine.
Allways disconnect the machine from the mains before doing any fault finding or repairs
E01 Usually indicates a problem with the door or door mechanism
E02 This indicates something has gone wrong with the filling with water part of the cycle and the programme cannot move on
E03 This usually means the machine senses it still has water in and cannot move on with the programme there could be a few reasons why this fault shows up one could be the pump
E04 This could be caused by faulty valves, pressure switch or the machine could be blocked somewhere in the air chambers
E05 This is usually a temperature sensor issue or bad wiring in that circuit
E06 Error can be caused by an uneven load or out of balance load
E07 Error code could be door related or motor related
E08 This indicates a fault on the motor circuit and correct motor speeds havent been acheived
E09 This usually means there is a fault with the part on the pcb that controls the motor speeds
E10 Usually means a problem with the drum sensor
E11 Washer dryer usually a faulty dryer sensor
E12 This could be bad communication between the control board and the dryer heater sensor
E13 Again control board, dryer heater or temperature sensor
E14 Water Heater or temperature sensor issue needs investigating
E15 Corrupted or incorrectly programmed control board
E16 Most common cause of this is defective heater insulation it will need checking with the correct meter
E17 Eratic spin speeds could indicate a problem with the motor tacho
E18 Control board fault usually an expensive repair
